This silicone base protects the inner globe of your Petree Cat Litter Box from scratches and damages. When your cat uses the litter box, they dig up the sand to cover the waste and it may cause damages to its surfaces. Use the silicone base so that your litter box is safe from wearing out and can be used by your cat for a long time.
