Does SNOW⁺ require special litter?
SNOW⁺ operates efficiently with clumping litter. We advise using a premium, standard-weight, clay-based clumping litter. Certain silica gel beads and crystals may also work, provided they pass through the screen. Tofu and plant-based litters may be compatible, but often form weaker clumps, possibly leading to moisture in the drawer. Avoid litters that are non-clumping, newspaper-based, or wood pellets.
How many cats can use SNOW⁺?
SNOW⁺ is suitable for up to 4 indoor cats. One cat may require drawer emptying every 2 weeks; two cats, weekly; three cats, twice weekly. SNOW⁺ has a large waste drawer and resets its cleaning cycle timer if a second cat enters before the first cycle finishes, which may delay cleanup if too many cats share one unit.
Will my cat actually go inside the globe?
Most cats are curious and adapt easily, especially if they’ve used covered litter boxes before. We recommend placing SNOW⁺ where the old box was and initially leaving it off. Mix some old litter into SNOW⁺ to transfer scent. With time, your cat should explore and use it comfortably.
Can kittens use SNOW⁺?
Kittens over 3.3 lbs (1.5 kg) can safely use SNOW⁺ in automatic mode. For lighter kittens, disable auto-cleaning and use 'semi-automatic' mode via the app. Trigger cleaning manually once or twice daily when the kitten is not inside the unit.

Does SNOW⁺ assist with cats that spray very high?
Yes. The interior globe is lined with a durable, impermeable liner. Spray that reaches above the halfway point will drain back into the litter. SNOW⁺ will remove clumps during cleaning. If your cat sprays often, clean the globe more frequently. The globe is magnetically attached and easy to remove.
Does SNOW⁺ have a weight limit?
SNOW⁺ has no strict weight limit, but it's recommended for cats under 20 lbs (9 kg) for optimal comfort and performance.
Does SNOW⁺ require special trash bags?
We recommend using SNOW⁺ Waste Drawer Liners for best performance and compatibility with the self-sealing feature. DIY alternatives may not offer the same fit or durability.
How frequently should I empty the waste drawer?
Emptying frequency depends on your number of cats. With one cat: every 2 weeks. Two cats: weekly. Three cats: twice weekly. SNOW⁺ has an expanded waste drawer to reduce emptying intervals.
Can SNOW⁺ help minimize litter tracking?
Absolutely. SNOW⁺ comes with a litter mat placed at the entrance walkway. Its unique entrance design and the mat help reduce litter tracking. The mat is removable, easy to clean, and litter can be reused by pouring it back into the globe.
How much litter should I add to SNOW⁺?
Fill the globe until it reaches the max fill line on the rubber liner when spread flat. This equals about 10 lbs of clumping litter (4.8 kg), 5 lbs of tofu litter (2.4 kg), or 1 gallon (4L) by volume. Avoid overfilling—since clumps are removed regularly, minimal litter is wasted.
How frequently should I refill litter in SNOW⁺?
SNOW⁺ is efficient in litter use due to its sifting system. Check litter level against the max fill line whenever you empty the drawer—usually every two weeks for one cat or weekly for multiple cats. Do not overfill.
Is it possible to use SNOW⁺ without the fragrance box?
Yes. While the Robertet® fragrance box is effective and ozone-free, it's optional. If you're sensitive to scents, remove the fragrance box from the deodorizer cover. The scent is mild and usually unnoticeable unless close to the entrance.
Will the globe rotate while my cat is inside?
No. SNOW⁺ uses SnowSafe⁺ technology to detect presence and delay rotation. The cleaning cycle won’t begin until 4 minutes after your cat exits. Re-entry resets the timer.
Are there any rakes or wires inside the globe?
No. SNOW⁺ contains no rakes or wires, making it completely safe. The design prioritizes your cat’s safety and comfort.
What happens if my cat tries to enter the globe while it is rotating?
The rotation stops immediately if the system detects a cat. It resumes only 15 seconds after no further detection. If the sensor continues to be triggered, the system halts and notifies you via app and light indicators. Refer to the manual or contact support for assistance.
If I have multiple cats, how do I know which cat is using the SNOW⁺?
The PetSnowy app allows setting up Pet IDs. SNOW⁺ logs entries by weight, helping differentiate usage by each cat.
