7 Must-Visit Dog Runs for Easties (or for an Excursion to the East)!

Singapore can get a little boring if you’re looking for new places to bring your pupper out to explore somewhere new every weekend, especially since there are not that many dog-friendly places around our sunny island. Thankfully, we have a bunch of dog parks (typically called dog runs) all over the country that we can take our pups to for some off-leash fun! In this blog post, we’ll be sharing some of the dog runs in the East side of Singapore for all you Easties out there!
The biggest catch of all these dog runs is that your dog can run around freely, with no restrictions because they are the only areas that it is legal to off-leash them. What’s more, they can finally get in touch with nature while simultaneously meeting dog friends to socialize with (or in some cases, get into barking contests…which we hope doesn’t happen too often)!
Simpang Bedok Dog Run
While Simpang Bedok Dog Run is facing the main road, it’s smaller than most other dog runs we’ve been to so it might be slightly harder to spot! Look out for a short blue wall (belonging to the adjacent street soccer court), or just listen out for the barking during evening time and you’re sure not to miss the dog run!
Address: Junction of Upper Changi Road and Jalan Pari Burong
Katong Dog Run
If you live close-by to East Coast Park, or you’re headed there for dinner at Lagoon - consider popping by Katong Dog Run before or after your ECP trip! This dog park is great because of it’s serenity; surprisingly, we’ve been there a couple of times but have never found it to be at all crowded. In fact, it’s a great quiet spot if you want to have a small gathering amongst your group of furriends (but of course, don’t forget that all dog runs are public spaces free for all so you can’t chope)! Best of all (for the pawrents), there are benches for y’all to rest inside while your doggos are running around sniffing, playing and using up all their energy! Once you’re done in the dog run, don’t forget to take a leisurely stroll out of Katong Park - which has plenty of greenery and natural breeze!
Address: Katong Park (59 Fort Road, Singapore 439105), Junction of Fort Road and Meyer Road
Tampines Central Park Dog Run
The dog run in Tampines Central Park is one of our personal favourites go-to park for an evening activity for our pups! This dog park is always bustling with people and dogs (except during weekday afternoons when the sun is shining its brightest), especially on weekdays evenings and the weekends! If you prefer a dog run where you dog gets to mingle with many other fur friends, then Tampines Dog Run is definitely our recommendation! Take note though, the place can get a little muddy if it’s rained recently, so do be prepared to give your dog a bath or wipe-down after your visit to Tampines Dog Run!
Address: Tampines Central Park, in front of Block 856 Tampines Street 82, Singapore 520856
Pasir Ris Dog Run
Situated on the running route between Tampines Eco Green and Pasir Ris Town Park, Pasir Ris Dog Run is a good stop-over for your pup to have some off-leash zoomies while you take your water break! It’s also relatively quiet as this dog park is not very popular (probably due to its distance away from Pasir Ris Central) so it’s a good place for some alone-time with your pupper.
Address: Near Block 550 Pasir Ris Street 51, Singapore 510550 (along Tampines Park Connector)
Lengkong Enam Dog Run
The Lengkong Enam Dog Run is very spacious, and on a slope terrain - making this dog park closer to nature and more challenging for our domesticated pups! With plenty of trees around to provide much-needed shade in the afternoon; as well as to provide lots of fresh air all day long, we find that this dog park in Lengkong Enam is worth a visit even if you don’t live in the East area. There’s also benches around the dog run so dog owners can take a seat while letting their pet dogs run around exploring! (Psst, as with all large grass patches, we recommend to spray ample tick repellant just in case!)
Address: Interim Park at Lengkong Enam, along Jalan Salamat and Lengkong Tujuh

Mariam Way Dog Run
This dog park is a small little space which serves a regular community of doggos and owners living around the Mariam Walk neighbourhood. When we headed down to check out the dog run, it was a very heartwarming feeling as everyone was so friendly and welcoming!

Koon Seng Park Dog Run
This dog run is really the most basic definition of a dog run - a grass patch enclosed with fence so that your pups can run inside off-leash! While it’s a simple design, we think it’s better than having no dog run at all - at least there’s a space of natural freedom to have fun in!

We hope that this list of dog runs located in the East comes in handy when you’re planning your next excursion outdoors. It’s always an exciting experience for your dog when you bring him/her out to a new place to explore - with the new environment, new smells and new furriends to meet! Bringing your dog to the dog park is also a wonderful way to encourage an active lifestyle, and a great form of exercise too!
Just a final note (and also some shameless marketing effort), the dog runs we’ve listed above don’t have water points inside them, so do bring along a bottle or an empty bowl to fill water up at a nearby washroom to ensure that your puppers stay hydrated while having fun! We’d like to recommend the PETKIT Water Bottle which is portable and leak-proof, so you can dispense water for your pups to quench their thirst whenever they want! We’re also running an Instagram Giveaway in collaboration with @th_babypompom from now till 14 June 2019 - with the lucky winner walking away with a FREE portable water bottle!
